Worth knowing: Ofgem's medium 'typical household' profile — 2,500 kWh electricity plus 9,500 kWh gas a year, combined here to 1,000 kWh a month. It is a published reference value used to define a typical bill, not a survey of what households actually use, so there is no percentile spread to place you in. Ofgem rebases it periodically; these values took effect on 1 July 2026.
