Terms of Service
Last updated 17 Jul 2026
These terms govern your use of TrackBritain. By creating an account you agree to them. The most important thing to understand is the section below on what this service is, and is not.
What TrackBritain is
TrackBritain lets you log values over time (a savings balance, a weight, a salary), organises related trackers into named "ladders" with a projected completion date, and — where a UK official-statistics benchmark exists — shows you where your own numbers sit against people your age, in your part of the country.
What TrackBritain is not — read this carefully
TrackBritain is not financial advice, is not medical advice, and is not a recommendation to take any specific action. It describes your own numbers, and it does arithmetic on your own numbers — it does not tell you what to buy, what to do, or what "people like you" did.
This distinction has a specific legal basis. From 6 April 2026, the UK Financial Conduct Authority's Targeted Support regime makes it a permissioned, regulated activity to suggest a course of action on the basis of shared customer-group characteristics — in plain terms, telling someone "people like you did X" as a nudge to act. We do not hold that permission, and we have deliberately built the product so it never crosses that line:
— Descriptive statements are fine: "Your savings are in the lowest 25% for your age group." — Arithmetic on your own numbers is fine: "At £420 a month you reach a 10% deposit by March 2029." — Signposting to impartial guidance is fine: "MoneyHelper has free, impartial guidance on Lifetime ISAs." — A recommendation is not: we will never tell you to open a specific product, or that "people like you" took a specific action as a reason for you to take it too.
The same principle applies to health trackers: TrackBritain shows you your own numbers and NHS-published reference thresholds. It is not a diagnosis, and it does not replace advice from a qualified clinician.
Your account
You're responsible for keeping your password (and, if enabled, your two-factor authentication device) secure, and for the accuracy of the values you choose to log. You must be 18 or over to create an account.
Acceptable use
Don't use TrackBritain to store or share unlawful content, attempt to access another user's account, or interfere with the service's operation (including automated scraping or attempts to bypass rate limits and bot protection).
Free service, and the one pricing rule
TrackBritain is free at the time of writing. If a paid tier is ever introduced, it will never retroactively restrict access to data you've already logged — see our Pricing page for the full, binding detail of that commitment.
Availability and liability
We aim to keep TrackBritain available and accurate, but we provide it "as is" without warranties of uninterrupted availability. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of the service. Nothing in these terms limits liability for anything that cannot lawfully be limited, including death or personal injury caused by negligence, or fraud.
Ending your account
You can delete your account at any time from your account settings — this is a self-service action, not a support request. We may suspend or terminate an account that breaches acceptable use.
Intellectual property, and who owns what
The TrackBritain software, design, branding, and tracker library are ours (or our licensors'), and these terms don't transfer any of that to you. The data YOU log is YOURS — we only process it to provide the service, we never claim ownership of it, and you can export or delete it at any time (see our Privacy Policy and Data Rights page).
The UK statistics we show
TrackBritain places you against figures from UK official statistics — the ONS, DVSA, NHS, Ofgem, HM Land Registry and others — reused under the Open Government Licence v3.0 and cited with their source and period. Those figures are provided "as is": we take care to source and date them accurately, but they are for information only and are not a guarantee, a valuation, or professional advice.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute, save where mandatory consumer-protection law gives you the right to bring a claim elsewhere.
General
If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest continues to apply. Our not enforcing a term on one occasion doesn't waive it. These terms, together with our Privacy and Cookie Policies, are the whole agreement between you and us about TrackBritain.
Changes to these terms
We'll post the updated date below whenever these terms change, and where a change is material we'll tell registered users directly.
