Worth knowing: Ofgem's price cap for a typical dual-fuel household paying by Direct Debit — £1,663 a year, shown here per month. It is a cap on unit rates, not a cap on your bill, and it describes one typical consumption profile rather than a distribution of real bills, so there is no percentile to place you in. It is reset every quarter: the next cap (from 1 October 2026) is announced in late August 2026.
